Italy Trip 2008Praiano – Tuesday 9th September 2008
I guess I would need more practice at shooting weddings in addition to having the freedom to roam around that the official wedding photographers enjoy. This is only the second wedding I’d attended as a guest possessing a DSLR. Besides, I think I’d found my niche: portraiture and travel photography.
I was wishing and wishing this little girl’s dad would move out of the shot but alas, not.
Rome – Wednesday 10th September 2008After a two-hour train journey from Naples to Rome, a short underground train trip, checking into our apartment, looking for a free street map, searching for the location of the shuttle bus that will transport us to the airport, we’d finally had time to explore the city. It was dark by then.

We’d found this delightful restaurant off a main road and tried it out due to a toptable sign on its window on my recommendation. In Italy, a full meal normally consist of an appetiser, first course, second course and dessert. I’d opted for a shank of lamb that fell off the bone and melted in the mouth accompanied by four(!) tasty roast potatoes.

Making a wish at the The Trevi Fountain. I’d wished for Jessica Alba to divorce her husband and marry me without a pre-nup.

Once you’d reached the Sistine Chapel, photography is prohibited and strictly enforced by the guards. But Des, with his tiny and slim Sony camera, managed to sneakily snap the famous Creation. Can you spot it?

My apologies for taking this long to post the photos from the trip. So much to do yet not enough time. I will strive to post pictures quicker after my trip to Berlin.

Actually, I like those wedding pictures, especially the first one =) As for the pictures of Rome and the Vatican, I’ve always wanted to go there! I love old buildings and the architecture and the beauty of them amazes me… So far I’ve only seen all the documentaries on national geographic channel, but it would be great to see them up close!
lol ! last photo.
I wonder if those “M” shaped columns on Michelangelo’s painting in the ceiling are supposted to be symbolic?
Your pictures are amazing! I wish I was there.
You truly have found your niche. Your travel photography is wonderul; you have a very sharp eye for composition. Tawn has been suggesting a return trip to Italy and your pictures are all the additional motivation I need.
rome looks just as beautiful as i remembered. i visited back in march for spring break =) i wish my photos turned out as nicely as yours though.
can’t see the last younger brothers photo for some reason =(
Beautiful pics as usual, D! The spiral staircase is one of my favorites even though most of your shots are gorgeous!
Keep it goin Mr!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE ROME! I miss Italy. I didn’t think photography was allowed in the Vatican?
The third photo with the glass is amazing. I’ve alway loved the Vittorio E. Fantastic shots!
Great pics!
haha that last pic is hilarious! your italy pics makes me wanna go there.
Was the bride pretty? How come there are no pics of her? What about the bridesmaids?
Wow, the photos are amazing!
I’m so jealous. The Colosseum and St. Peter’s Basilica are equally magnificent!
Burn After Reading was totally meh. It had bits and pieces of funny, but it was overall nothing I’d remember in the years to come. It went below my expectations of a Coen Brothers film.
may your wishes come true re: Jessica Alba – LOL
wonderful!
I always wanted to go to Italy. Haha, I hope your wish comes true!
